What is the advantage of a delayed-release capsule?
A delayed-release capsule protects acid-sensitive live bacteria in the supplement against the acidic environment in the stomach before they reach the intestines, where they are needed to provide their beneficial effects. The delayed-release capsule is designed to protect the bacteria as they pass through the stomach. As acidity decreases in the small intestines, the capsule gradually releases the probiotics in the intestines, where they can thrive and support the gut microbiome. This helps ensure that the probiotics reach their intended destination and can provide their desired benefits. Without this protection, many of the probiotics would be inactivated in the stomach acid before they ever had a chance to reach your gut.
